The South Australian DIT implemented a passenger counting system to their Flexity & Citadis tram fleets to gather patronage data & improve services. Engaged by ACOREL, SCG assists in providing Engineering, Project Management & Installation support. -

To meet Melbourne’s growing railway patronage, Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) pledged to extend the service life of the COMENG fleet through the completion of the COMENG Life Extension (CLE) Project. -

Alstom Citadis Tram Upgrade
Vigilance System Upgrade - Citadis Tram Fleet
SCG implemented a vigilance system upgrade across the fleet of 9 Alstom Citadis 302 trams for the South Australian Department of Planning, Transport & Infrastructure (DPTI). This safety-critical upgrade was identified as an essential solution to reducing injuries to tram operators. -
Siemens Combino Tram Upgrades
D-Class Passenger Information System (PIS)
SCG was engaged by Yarra Trams (YT) to manage the procurement, prototyping, drafting, installation, testing & commissioning of a passenger information system upgrade for 59 Siemens Combino trams within the YT Melbourne fleet. -
Adelaide New Build Train
SCG’s Project Inspector acted as the customer appointed representative (DIT) to ensure each unit was manufactured and tested as per the contract, ensuring achievement of compliance and quality.

Tram Site Assessment
Yarra Trams commissioned SCG to undertake a “Site Suitability Assessment” of existing Yarra Trams sites that could potentially meet the requirements to safely and effectively conduct the project.

Queensland 16 Year Overhaul
SCG were engaged to support Downer (in both Brisbane and Maryborough in Queensland), with the engineering design of modifications to the Lighting and Brakes & Pneumatics subsystems.

Tram Periodicity Assessment
SCG was engaged to support the Torrens Connect team in their Engineering Change process for the for the Alstom Citadis 302 trams ‘C6’ (500,000km) service to extend to 600,000km.

HCMT Systems Safety Assurance
CRRC required specialist support to deliver Systems Safety Assurance for the new fleet of High-Capacity Metro Trains entering service in Melbourne.

D Class Detailed Damage Assessment & Repair Scheme
Strategic Connections Group is your tram restoration specialist. We took on the intricate project of restoring Yarra Trams' D2-Class tram 5017, which had faced severe collision damage. Our four-phase approach, comprising damage assessment, repair scheme development, part procurement, and recommissioning, breathed new life into this valuable asset, showcasing our commitment to safety and efficient project management.
