Rolling Stock Project
Yarra Trams D Class Detailed Damage Assessment & Repair Scheme
Project Overview
Project Client: Yarra Trams
Year of Completion: 2019
At Strategic Connections Group, we took on the challenge of assessing damage and developing repair schemes for the Yarra Trams' D2-Class tram 5017 following a severe collision with a tipper truck. With three of its five modules affected, including structural damage to the cabin and the 3rd passenger module, this Siemens-manufactured 'Combino' tram, built in 2003-2004, needed careful restoration.
An FMEA, Risk Assessment and Condition Assessment were the key tools used to support the Torrens Connect team in reviewing and analysing the systems and components included in the C6 service activities.
