Rolling Stock Project
Adelaide New Build Train Project
Project Overview
Project Client: Department for Infrastructure & Transport (SA)
Year of Completion: Ongoing
As part of the South Australian Governments' investment in public transport, an additional twelve EMU’s (Electric Multiple Units) were required to be built. These EMU’s were manufactured at the Alstom factory in Dandenong to the same design as the original 22 manufactured. Manufacturing, partial fit-out and some testing has been completed in Dandenong, with each individual car transported via road to the Seaford Commissioning Depot in SA. The individual cars were mechanically and electrically connected, with full static and dynamic testing, interior fit-out and fault-free running completed to allow for Provisional Acceptance.
SCG’s Project Inspector acted as the customer appointed representative (DIT) to ensure each unit was manufactured and tested as per the contract, ensuring achievement of compliance and quality.
